Summer reading is here and we hope you are as excited as we are. This year, your summer reading choices are up to you. We provide a list of suggested book titles for you to look at, but the books you read are completely up to you! All incoming 7 & 8th grade students are asked by the ELA department to read at least (2) books over the summer and fill out the summer reading log. If you are in Gifted ELA, please see the seperate "Gifted Summer Reading Assignment" below.

We love reading at Herrick and we know how much reading can benefit your performance throughout the school year. Summer Reading should be fun and we want you to enjoy doing it. In addition to your Reading Log, please submit a book review by clicking on the link below. Your reviews help guide others to great books and they might even get featured in the library or online throughout the year!
